ORCID is part of the wider digital infrastructure needed for researchers to share information on a global scale.
ORCID iD is a unique identifier for individuals to use with their name as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. This is designed to be a career-long identifier – it stays with you no matter which institution or country you are in.
1. Go to https://orcid.org/register
Note: If you have an account but can’t recall your ORCID password, please review this ORCID help page rather than creating a new ORCID.
3. A verification email will be sent to the email account entered in the registration form. You will need to click on the 'Verify your email address' button in the email to validate your ORCID profile.
4. Once you have an ORCID ID you should populate your profile. You can import publications from your Google Scholar Profile, published data from Research Data Australia, or manually update your record.
