Q. How can I tell if my externally funded research project will display in my Research Profile?

Externally funded research projects need to be recorded by Research Services in order to be fed into the Research Profiles and Repository system.

Projects will be visible in the staff-visible Research Profiles Portal from the point of submission, but will only display once the contract has been finalised, depending on the following conditions:

• No Restriction: If the contract indicates that the University is permitted to display on our public-facing websites, then visibility will be set to “Public – No restriction” and it will be visible in both the public Research Profiles and Repository Profiles and the staff-only Research Profiles Portal by default.
• Restricted: If the contract does not permit display on public-facing websites, the visibility will be restricted. It will be visible on the staff-visible Research Profiles Portal only, not the public Research Profiles and Repository system.
• Confidential: Staff can request that a project be marked as “Confidential”, making the project only visible in the staff-only Research Profiles Portal to users named on the project and system administrators.
