Yes. Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina in October 2019. Apple's decision to drop all 32-bit application support, has meant that macOS 10.15 Catalina will run EndNote 20 and later versions. It is best not to update your operating system if you are near the end of your project.

If this is your first time using EndNote, just download and install EndNote for Mac from the library’s download page.

If you have had previous versions of EndNote, before you update to Catalina:

If you already have EndNote X9.0 / X9.1 / X9.1.1 open your EndNote library, select EndNote from the top of the page and click on check for updates.

If you have X9.2 installed you will not see the option to upgrade to X9.3.1 via 'check for updates'. You can access the  X9.3 installer and instructions on this page.

If you have already installed Catalina and have not run the update to X9.3:

Install EndNote 20 for Mac from the library’s download page.

It is recommended not to save your back up library/s as a package (.enp file). For more information on EndNote Library backwards compatibility please see this article.

Please use the latest versions of Microsoft Word 2016 and EndNote 20 to ensure compatibility. You can update to the latest version of Word 2016 for Mac, which is available at Western Sydney University through Student and Staff Advantage.
