Apple plans to release macOS 10.15 Catalina in September-October 2019. Since Apple has made the decision to drop all 32-bit application support, we expect that macOS 10.15 Catalina will not run EndNote X8 or earlier versions. Please consider updating to the latest version of EndNote (EndNote X9) to ensure your access continues. For further details see: EndNote for Mac: macOS Catalina Compatibility.
Please use the latest versions of Microsoft Word 2016 and EndNote X9, to ensure compatibility. EndNote X8 is compatible with Mac OS10.14.3 and Microsoft Word for Mac (version 16.21.1 or later).
You can update to the latest version of Word 2016 for Mac, which is available through Western Sydney University.
Before updating to the latest version of EndNote it is advisable to create and save a copy of your EndNote Library/s. For instructions on how to do this please see the FAQ How do I back up my EndNote Library?
