If you encounter the following message in EndNote, when you try to open an EndNote Library, this indicates that a trial version of the program has been installed.
Also, once an EndNote trial expires, the number of references you can view in your EndNote Library will be limited to 10 references.
Current students and staff of the university can obtain the EndNote program, for free, from the Downloads page on the Library website. You will need to sign in to the page using your Western Account.
For instructions on installing EndNote, please refer to the FAQs below:
- How do I install EndNote at home? (for Windows)
- How do I install EndNote at home? (for Mac)
- How do I install EndNote on a university computer?
If you are installing EndNote on a Windows computer and receive either a prompt for a product key or to sign up for a trial, please refer to the FAQ, I get asked for a product key when I download EndNote. A product key is not required to install EndNote.
All your references should be restored once you install the full version of the program and open your EndNote Library.
