Q. How do I distinguish my in-text citations for works with multiple authors who have the same lead author?
Both works are published in the same year. Each work has three authors, so I have to include all authors the first time I cite them. However, in each subsequent citation, the APA rules state I only need to use the name of the first author followed by et al. and year of publication. How do I distinguish the two works after my first in-text citation when the author and date will be the same.
For second and subsequent citations, cite the surname for the first two authors, and of as many as the next authors as necessary to differentiate the two works, followed by a comma and et al.
