If your manuscript was submitted to the journal online, the publisher may provide an author portal where the ‘accepted version’ can be retrieved.

Otherwise, keep a copy of the final peer-reviewed version of the paper or contact a co-author, if appropriate.

The Accepted version is the post-print of the manuscript, which is the paper after it has undergone peer review.

This is the author's version of an article that has been amended to reflect any revisions in the publication process.

You can also refer to Jisc's open policy finder as this provides information on journal archiving policies.

Additionally, this image provides a concise explanation of Accepted Manuscripts.

More information about open-access publishing can be located via the Open Access Subject Guide. It provides details of the differences between green, gold, and hybrid open-access publishing.
