When you create an assignment, a column is created in the Grade Centre. Students submitting an assignment in Turnitin trigger the addition of a ‘needs grading’ exclamation mark in the Grade Centre. In some very rare cases, the connection between Turnitin and the Grade Centre fails and Blackboard Gradebook does not currently reflect this assignment's submission status.
This results in some confusion as a student submits an assignment and receives confirmation it has been received by Turnitin but no ‘needs grading’ exclamation mark appears in the Grade Centre.
To ensure that data received from Turnitin is up-to-date; Instructors can click on the “sync grades” tool which is adjacent to the Turnitin assignment link. (To access, choose Course Tools > Turnitin Assignments).
This could be updated after the due date has passed or at the time of marking.
