There is nothing wrong with how Turnitin works or the content of your work. If Turnitin has generated 0% it is still a successful submission and no further action is required on your part.
This indicates that your work is purely in your own words and the sources you have acknowledged have not been used in other papers.
Other reasons may be:
- If the assignment question has not been used before, or the assessment type is a short assessment task such as annotated bibliography, paraphrase exercise or personal reflection exercise
- Turnitin only text-matches against resources that are available electronically
- The lecturer has used the ‘exclude matches’ feature in the Turnitin Assignment link which will exclude matches by a specific percentage or word-count
- Papers are not compared with other class members until after due date has passed. Sources have not been matched within the report as yet because no comparison has occurred and no other student has referred to the sources previously.
