The reference for a movie should contain the following:

  • Title of the movie.
  • Format e.g. DVD, video recording, motion picture (if viewed at a cinema).
  • Publisher. This is usually the production company. For co-productions include the name of each company.
  • Place of recording. Location of the production company.

Additional information can be provided at the end of the reference. e.g. Distributed by ..., written by ... , directed by .... , starring ...

If the the movie is viewed online via a free website, provide the date viewed and URL. If it is viewed online via a subscribed database, provide the viewed date and name of the database.

Format for reference list entry.

Title of Movie year of recording, format, Publisher or Production Company, Place of recording, additional information can be added at the end of the reference e.g. Distributed by ,… Written by …, Directed by …
